Early on, I learned how to listen to energy, to feeling, to what exists beneath the surface, as my mother moved through the world with deep spirituality. Sensitivity was part of my environment before it became part of my identity. I noticed things easily and often felt more than I could explain.

As I got older, that sensitivity became harder to hold. I felt myself drifting from my essence, shaped by expectations and stories that were handed to me rather than chosen. I began to lose my sense of direction, and not belonging settled in quietly but persistently.

There were moments when I felt completely disconnected, unsure of how to return to myself. Writing became the place I could go when everything else felt overwhelming. Poetry allowed me to explore what I was carrying, not only from my own experiences but from family history and ancestral memory. It helped me sit with that weight without being consumed by it.

Over time, I realized that telling my story differently mattered. Creating became a way of softening the past and allowing something new to exist alongside it, without needing to erase what came before.

Music grew naturally from that space. Songwriting felt like listening rather than deciding, like following something already in motion. I am still learning how to trust change and stay grounded as things shift around me, and creating remains how I stay connected to myself.
